  • Our studio is based in Newcastle, NSW, working across regional NSW, Sydney and beyond.

    Weekly & fortnightly retainer arrangements only available for Newcastle, Lake Macquarie & Hunter Valley region.

  • Our studio partners with brands and spaces seeking sculptural floral work that is intentional, textural and design-led. Each commission is developed in response to the architecture, atmosphere and narrative of the space.

    Indicative investment begins from:

    • $3,500 (inc GST)
      For refined brand moments, including plinth work, reception styling and singular floral statements.

    • $5,000+ (inc GST)
      For large-scale installations, bespoke mechanics, multi-day commissions and immersive floral environments.

    For clients requiring an ongoing presence, we offer:

    • Weekly or fortnightly commissions from $800–$1,200 (inc GST) per visit, or

    • Monthly retainer arrangements, allowing for continuity, seasonal evolution and a considered, long-term design dialogue.

    All works are custom-quoted and produced in limited volume to ensure each installation is delivered with the care, detail and restraint our studio is known for.

  • Yes. For weekly or fortnightly placements, we offer per-visit commissions from $800–$1,200, as well as monthly retainer arrangements for clients seeking continuity and seasonal evolution.

  • Absolutely. We often work alongside stylists, architects, planners and creative directors to deliver cohesive, design-led outcomes.

  • We source our flowers predominantly from the Sydney Flower Markets, working with trusted wholesalers and growers, as well as local growers around the Hunter Valley. This allows us to offer a diverse selection of high-quality florals for your event.

Enquiry

Once you submit an enquiry, you’ll receive a response from The Abstract Florist within 48 hours confirming availability and alignment with your brief. If suitable, we’ll arrange an initial consultation via Google Meet at a time that suits your team.

Initial Consultation

Consultations are held via Google Meet or phone for convenience. This conversation allows us to understand the space, brand context, scope, timing and key logistics of the project to establish a clear framework for pricing. Early ideas and rough parameters are completely acceptable — we’re experienced in shaping concepts collaboratively, even when details are still evolving.

Proposal

Following the consultation, you’ll receive a clear and transparent proposal outlining the recommended scope of work, investment and timeline based on what has been discussed. Where appropriate, a high-level visual direction may be referenced to communicate the overall floral approach and design intent.

Confirmation

To secure the project, clients are required to sign our contract and pay the required deposit via the proposal link. Once confirmed, the project is scheduled and production is locked into our calendar.

Pre-Installation Planning

In the lead-up to installation, we manage floral sourcing, production and logistics. We remain available throughout this phase and schedule check-ins as required to ensure alignment across timelines, access requirements and site coordination.

Installation

On the scheduled date, our team arrives during the agreed access window to install and execute the floral work with care and precision, ensuring the final outcome integrates seamlessly with the space and brief.
